… and the first thing to know about me is that I love a good story.
The phrase ‘do it for the story’ has become something of a personal motto for me (for better or worse) — that unquenchable desire to dive into experiences and live to tell the tale. More than anything, though, my favourite thing about stories is the way they connect us. The way they allow us to share, to listen, to learn, to see, to be seen.
This love for storytelling is what led me to become a journalist, a career I carved out over 12 years at one of Australia's largest integrated media companies. Specialising in lifestyle, entertainment and features, I wrote more than 3000 articles and interviewed countless famous names — but truly my favourite parts were in the smaller moments, like when people said they were moved to tears by the way I ‘got’ them through my words on the page. The instant intimacy that came with asking a really poignant question. The chance to platform voices who deserved to be heard.
Now, as a Human Design mentor, it’s my greatest joy to make others the heroes of their own story. I have a gift for recognising the inherent individuality in people and reflecting back to them how brightly they shine. I believe that when we acknowledge our uniqueness — even the parts that feel sticky or spicy — we can step into a more authentic version of ourselves. And when we can finally see and celebrate the totality of who we are, we can move mountains.

A LITTLE MORE BACKGROUND ON JESSIE

In addition to being certified in Advanced Human Design, I am a qualified yoga teacher (200hr vinyasa; 50hr yin) and devoted spiritual student. Whether I am facilitating classes, workshops or one-on-one sessions, a through-line of all my offerings is an invitation to go inwards and get curious about what it means to be truly ourselves.
I have a special interest in somatics, breathwork and the practical application of yogic wisdom in our wondrously messy modern lives. My style is warm and inclusive (often with a dash of silliness, to keep things real).

My natural sense of curiosity and dynamism has extended to a host of projects on the sidelines, including personal branding, ghost writing, creative direction, editing, live storytelling, styling, media consulting, concept development and LGBTQIA+ advocacy.
I have appeared on podcasts, panels, radio and TV, bringing openness and relatability to conversations and commentary. A creative force and ideas machine who is ever eager to add new skills to my toolkit, I use my unique expertise to help brands and individuals hone their tone, polish their vision and share their singular stories with the world.

WHAT IS A REFLECTOR?
A friend once said if I was an inanimate object, it would be a mirror ball.
This was long before I’d ever heard of Human Design, long before the term Reflector came into my orbit. Years later, I stumbled upon the system (as an astrology devotee, it was bound to happen) and learned I fell into this mysterious category.
One of five energy types in the Human Design framework, Reflectors make up just 1 per cent of all people. They are often called the chameleons of society, the shape-shifters, and, yes, the human disco balls - they reflect back the light of others, absorb and magnify energy, and mirror the world as they see it.
Reflectors are so rare, many seasoned HD experts will admit they don’t really understand how we operate - but there’s no denying we have an important role to play in the tapestry of society.
Learning this about myself was a whole thing. It explained so much, yet left me with endless questions. In diving deep into my Human Design, I found a compass to explore my uniqueness, my gifts and my shadows. But most importantly, compassion and acceptance for who I inherently am.
I hope I can offer others this same level of feeling seen through my work as a Human Design Mentor. You are the hero of your own story, and it’s my role to reflect your sparkle back to you so you believe it, irrevocably.
