WE ARE ALL ENERGY

WE ARE ALL ENERGY

We don’t need Einstein to tell us this; it’s something most of us know deep down. And it’s this foundation Human Design is built upon. If everything is energy, how do we put it to best use?

human design shows us how

At its simplest, Human Design is a tool that gives us insight into how best to use our energy - how to create more flow and less resistance.

It is a layering of ancient spiritual modalities and modern science; a master system that creates a complex blueprint of who we came here to be, using our birth data. This unique chart, called a bodygraph, is what forms the basis of any reading or analysis.

The function of Human Design is to bring us back to our true selves, who we really are without all the conditioning the world has placed upon us. Our chart illuminates our greatest gifts, how we are best designed to work, how we engage with others, our challenges and shadows, what we are here to become wise about, the wisdom we in can impart in turn, and much more.

Human Design prompts us to get out of our heads and start trusting our body's consciousness - the intuition that lives deep inside us, that always knows the answer, if we would just listen.

the systems behind HD

Human Design combines esoteric philosophies with practical science — the way they all layer together, and the crossover with the ancient and modern, is truly extraordinary. Here are some of the systems HD draws from:

  • The I Ching

  • Hindu-Brahman Chakra system

  • Tree of Life

  • Astrology

  • Genetics

  • Quantum physics

  • Biomechanics

  • Astronomy

  • Psychology

HOW DO we USE IT?

I believe Human Design is for everyone, regardless of background, belief system, industry or circumstance. My interpretation of HD is underpinned by the mantra ‘know thyself, be true’ - first we become aware of our inherent nature, then we understand how we engage with the world around us, then we find a way to deeply accept ourselves. From there, we can make a difference - not just on a personal level, but for the collective.

Human Design is a practical lens to view ourselves and our core life themes. While most clients will come seeking guidance around purpose or career, HD is applicable in any area you want to know yourself better.

We all have an individual role to play in this lifetime. What’s yours?

a quick guide to HD terms

  • The way you exchange energy with the world. We are all one of five types (with some more rare than others):

    - Manifestor

    - Generator

    - Manifesting Generator

    - Projector

    - Reflector

  • How to use your energy to create alignment and reduce resistance. This is dependant on your Energy Type - for example, all Projectors have the same Strategy: to wait for an invitation.

  • Your strongest intuitive sense. Your Authority works in tandem with your Strategy to make decisions from your highest self.

However, unlike Strategy, your Authority is not necessarily type-specific. For example, Generators may have Emotional or Sacral Authority based on where there is Definition in their chart.

  • The sign you're living true to your design; or the sign you've come out of alignment. We will constantly be oscillating between our Signature and Not Self - they are little nudges or prompts to pay attention to.

Again, these are dependant on your Energy Type. For example, the Signature for all Reflectors is Surprise, and the Not Self is disappointment.

  • There are nine Energy Centres in the Human Design bodygraph, all with a different theme. They are what trasmute the energy that flows through us, and shape our experience of the world.

Centres can be Defined, Undefined or Open. Defined centres are where we have fixed, consistent energy. With Undefined or Open centres, our energy is more fluid. This is where we absorb and amplify energy.

Having Undefined centres is not a bad thing at all - while this is where we are more prone to receiving conditioning, it is also where we can become most wise.

  • Your Profile contains a wealth of information about your personality, your role, how you learn and how you engage. It provides clues as to how you are best designed to influence and impact, and also shines a light on vulnerabilities and challenges.

As with all parts of our Human Design, there are always two sides to the coin. The lesson is in our awareness and acceptance of this polarity, and how we use the energy for good.

  • Activated Gates and Channels in our chart signify our greatest gifts and superpowers.

They interrelate with planetary activations, where in the bodygraph they are located and how they converse with other parts of the chart.

It's a big puzzle to decode - but one that is very empowering and exciting once it all falls into place.

  • This is a tricky term to clearly define. While many describe it as our purpose, it's a lot more nuanced than that. Knowing our Incarnation Cross is something we awaken into by living our design; it is not something that can be reverse engineered.

Our Incarnation Cross is sometimes called our Karma and Dharma combined. It is the universe's assignment for us in this lifetime, but it's a lofty call and it can have many interpretations.

What we really need to know: by following our Strategy and Authority, we will get where we need to go, in our time and in our own way.

a final note —

There’s so much to know, and the mind is constantly seeking answers. But the reason Human Design is called an ‘experiment’ is because it is something that must be felt and lived to be truly understood. The hypothesis is ever-changing, and the variables are endless.

We become alchemists of our destiny when we balance the need to know, our inner-knowing and the not-knowing (and may never know) at once.
